Origin Story
Every hero has their origin story. The Coaching Digital Learning Institute began in 2008 by North Carolina State University's
Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. This unique event is designed to support K-12 educators’ digital transition needs. We can all agree that while a growing number of schools and districts across North Carolina are making the transition to digital and blended learning, technology does not drive these initiatives - teaching and learning always need to be at the forefront. Instructional technology facilitators, media coordinators, instructional specialists, and technology-driven educators and mentoring staff that have taken the lead in implementing digital transitions in their schools and districts are the unsung heroes of these initiatives, and honoring that we have a
superhero twist added to this year’s event.
